Halloween Spiderweb Cake

What you need:
- 250g Odlums Self-Raising Flour
- 100g Cocoa Powder
- 250g Caster Sugar
- 250g Butter(room temperature) and extra for greasing.
- 5 Eggs
Buttercream
- 300g Butter
- 200g Icing Sugar
- 100g Cocoa Powder
Ganache
- 200g dark chocolate
- 300ml of cream
Topping
- Slightly whipped cream or melted white chocolate.
How to:
- Preheat the oven to 180C/gas mark 4, grease and line 3 x 20cm loose bottom sandwich cake tins with parchment paper and softened butter.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the sugar and butter together until light and fluffy.
- Crack the 5 eggs into a jug and then beat them together nicely.
- Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture slowly by trickling them in and beating with your electric mixer.
- Next sieve in the Odlums Self Raising Flour and cocoa powder and fold them together. Add some milk to loosen the mixture and then divide it amongst the 3 lined tins smooth it out with a spatula and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow to cool before removing from tins and then fully cool on a wire rack.
- Make the buttercream by beating the ingredients together.
- Fill the buttercream between the first two layers of the cake.
- Next top the cake with the ganache and then pipe circles of the slightly whipped cream or white chocolate on top. Use a skewer to make it like a spiderweb and then enjoy.
