- 225g/8oz Odlums Self Raising Flour, sieved
- 125g/4oz Butter or Margarine (room temperature)
- 125g/4oz Caster Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 4 tablespoons Water
- Few drops Goodall’s Almond Essence
- 175g/6oz Sultanas
- Preheated oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Greased and base line a 450g/1lb loaf tin.
- Cream butter/margarine and sugar.
- Beat in eggs, water and almond essence.
- Stir in sieved flour. Add sultanas and mix well.
- Transfer to prepared tin and bake in preheated oven for approx 45 minutes or until cake is golden brown and firm to the touch.
