Half a 1 kg packet of Odlums Brown Bread Mix
2 tablespoons Odlums Pinhead Oatmeal
2 tablespoons Pumpkin Seeds
2 tablespoon Linseed
1 tablespoon Treacle
300ml-450m l / 1/2 pint-3/4pint of Milk

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas 5. Lightly grease a 900g/2lb loaf tin and dust base and sides with Odlums Oatflakes.
  2. Put half the packet of brown bread mix into a bowl. Add the pinhead oatmeal, pumpkin seeds and linseed and mix well. Warm the treacle and milk together and combine with a fork. Add to the dry ingredients and mix to a soft dough, but not sloppy!
  3. Transfer to the prepared tin and bake for about 45 minutes or until risen and has a hollow sound when tapped underneath. Wrap in a clean tea towel until cold.
  4. Serve with cheese, smoked salmon or soup.
