Salted Caramel Chocolate Mug Cake

Cook Time: 1 minute 30 seconds

What you need

  • 4 spoons Odlums cream flour (60g)
  • 1 spoon cocoa (15g)
  • ½ tsp Odlums baking powder (2g)
  • 3 spoons caster sugar (45g)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 spoon olive oil (15mls )
  • 4 spoons milk ( 60mls )
  • 1 heaped dessertspoon salted caramel sauce
  • 1 or 2 chocolate truffles

Recipe Steps

  1. Take a big mug. Combine all the ingredients in the mug.
  2. Stir with a spoon until there are no lumps.
  3. Take a dollop of salted caramel sauce on a spoon and insert it into the middle. Then sit a truffle on top.
  4. Cook for 1 minute 30 seconds. Stop at 30-second intervals. This will prevent it from spilling over. At 1 minute add in the marshmallows. Turn on the microwave again and finish cooking. Remove from the microwave when the time is up, allow it to cool and set for a few minutes.
  5. Dust with cocoa, and serve with an extra little dollop of salted caramel sauce and a dollop of cream or ice cream. Enjoy every bite.
  6. NOTE: To make it extra chocolatey, after the mug cake comes out of the microwave, sit another truffle in and allow it to melt as the cake sets a little.
