Scary Shortbread Cookies

What you need

  • 225g/8oz Odlums Cream Plain Flour
  • 125g/4oz Butter (room temperature)
  • 1 Egg
  • 125g/4oz Shamrock Golden Caster Sugar

To Decorate

  • Melted chocolate
  • Piping Bag

Recipe Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Lightly grease a baking tray.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and gently add flour, stir until mixture forms dough.
  4. Wrap tightly in cling film and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Then, lightly knead on a well floured surface. Roll out to about 10mm/¼” in thickness. Use a scone cutter or glass to cut out cookies.
  5. Place on baking tray and put into the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until just golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, allow to set on tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire tray to cool.
  7. When cold, draw scary faces with piped melted chocolate
